Overview
This journey begins in one of the world’s most magical cities: Venice. Spend two nights here before your cruise, giving you the chance to wander its canals, explore St Mark’s Square, and experience a city like no other. Venice has a way of slowing you down, inviting you to stroll its bridges, sit at a café, and watch gondolas pass by. It sets the perfect tone for the holiday ahead.
From Venice, you will board MSC Fantasia for a ten-night voyage across the Adriatic and Mediterranean. The route has been carefully designed to take you through Croatia, Greece, Malta, and Italy, offering a mix of historic cities, island escapes, and sunlit coastlines. Each stop along the way is unique, giving you a taste of the culture, history, and landscapes that make this part of Europe so special.
Your first port is Trieste, a city that blends Italian charm with hints of its Austro-Hungarian past. Wander along elegant squares, try local coffee in one of its historic cafés, or simply enjoy the view of the sea against its grand architecture. From here, the ship sails to Zadar, Croatia, where Roman ruins sit side by side with medieval churches and the modern Sea Organ creates music from the waves.
Next is Dubrovnik, often called the Pearl of the Adriatic. Its stone walls rise dramatically above the sea, enclosing a perfectly preserved old town. Walk along the city walls, explore narrow streets lined with shops and cafés, or take in views that stretch out across the islands.
From Croatia, the journey continues to Bari, a lively Italian port known for its old town, seafood markets, and the Basilica of Saint Nicholas. It offers a glimpse of authentic southern Italy, with winding lanes and a relaxed pace of life.
The ship then sails to Corfu, one of Greece’s most beloved islands. Corfu is known for its mix of Venetian and Greek heritage, sandy beaches, and olive groves. Spend your day discovering Corfu Town’s pastel-coloured buildings, or escape to a quiet cove for a swim in clear blue waters.
Another highlight is Valletta, the capital of Malta. Valletta is compact but filled with history, from grand churches to old fortifications overlooking the harbour. The streets are lined with honey-coloured buildings, and the atmosphere is both lively and welcoming.
Sailing onwards, the cruise reaches Messina in Sicily, with Taormina nearby. Taormina is a hilltop town famous for its Greek theatre, views of Mount Etna, and charming streets lined with cafés and boutiques. It is a place where history and natural beauty meet, and the kind of stop that leaves lasting memories.
The next port is Civitavecchia, your gateway to Rome. From here, you can explore the Eternal City — whether that means visiting the Colosseum, wandering the Roman Forum, standing in awe at St Peter’s Basilica, or simply enjoying a coffee in a bustling piazza. Rome is a city of layers, where every corner reveals something extraordinary.
Finally, your cruise ends with two nights in Barcelona, giving you time to enjoy one of Europe’s most exciting cities. Barcelona is a place of contrasts: Gothic streets meet modernist architecture, markets sit beside designer shops, and sandy beaches stretch out along the city’s edge. Spend your days exploring La Rambla, visiting Gaudí’s Sagrada Família, or enjoying tapas at a neighbourhood bar. With two nights here, you have time to truly experience its rhythm before flying home.
This holiday is more than just a cruise. It is a journey through some of Europe’s most beautiful cities and coastlines, with time to explore on land and relax at sea.

When Can You Travel
.This holiday departs on 27 October 2025. It is a wonderful time to experience the Mediterranean. The busy summer season has ended, leaving the streets quieter and more relaxed. The weather is mild, often warm enough for outdoor dining and sightseeing, but without the high heat of midsummer.
Venice in late October is peaceful, with soft light reflecting off the canals. The Adriatic coast in Croatia is calm and inviting, while islands like Corfu still enjoy pleasant weather. In Italy and Malta, the cooler climate makes exploring historic streets and landmarks more enjoyable. By the time you reach Barcelona, you will find a city that feels both lively and comfortable, perfect for walking, sightseeing, or relaxing by the beach.
This combination of timing, destinations, and experiences makes the October departure an excellent choice. You will see the Mediterranean at its most authentic, with fewer crowds, comfortable temperatures, and plenty of time to enjoy each port.
